Bad Teacher, Good Movie

Last night, Dave and I had date night!  He got some restaurant gift cards for his birthday and from coaching LAX, so he got dinner and I got the movie tickets (we don't go to the movies much unless its something we really want to see like Harry Potter!).  We ended up going to Carrabbas and seeing Bad Teacher.  We were both looking forward to seeing the movie.  Dave thought it would be funny and I love Cameron, Justin, and Jason.  Plus, it was a teacher movie!  The movie follows Elizabeth (Cameron Diaz) as she tries to make a living after her fiance dumps her for being a gold digger.  She decides to be a teacher for all the wrong reasons such as shorter summers and hours.  She is only working until she finds a rich man to take care of her.  She thinks getting a boob job will solve this problem, so the whole movie she is trying to get $10,000 for surgery.  She thinks this will impress Scott (Justin Timberlake), a rich substitute teacher at her school.  Unfortunately, Scott has a crush on Elizabeth's goody rival, Amy Squirrel.  The whole movie is Elizabeth and Amy competing against each other especially for Scott's affection and a $5,700 bonus.  Plus the romantic plot...will she end up with Scott or witty gym teacher Russell (Jason Segel) who constantly asks her out?
I thought the movie was good.  I wouldn't buy it or anything, but it was funny.  Dave thought it was funny as well, but he thought the commercials gave away all of the good lines in the movie.  I agree with this.  I love Jason Segel because he plays Marshall on How I Met Your Mother (1/2 of my favorite couple of all time...Lily and Marshall!) and he was good in this as well.  He had some great one liners- probably the best character!  I usually think Justin Timberlake is hilarious because of all he has done with Saturday Night Live, but I thought he could have done a lot better in this movie.  He wasn't that funny, but I guess that is due to the writers and not him.  They failed me...and Justin.  I thought Cameron played a good bad teacher.  She is really pretty, but you can tell she is a guy's girl too (you can't be too feminine and do the same workouts as A. Rod!).

Elizabeth is selfish, she talks dirty, and she is a horrible teacher.  The only thing I liked about her is her clothes.  She was wearing Christian Louboutin shoes everyday!  I was like sell those and you will make your $10,000 a lot faster!?!  Overall, we probably wouldn't pay to see this movie in theaters again.  Coincidentally, we cannot remember any of the good lines in the movie.  I guess they were not that memorable outside of the theater.  I definitely recommend renting it though because it is entertaining!
