Happy New Year! I know I have been MIA for a bit - blame the holidays and traveling - but I am back for 2012! One of my resolutions for the New Year is to post at least 3 times a week on my blog, so be prepared to hear lots from me starting as soon as possible!
I spent Christmas with my Dad and step-mom in San Antionio, TX this year. (Check back soon for a post on a cool, unusual gift they got me that relates to my Operation: Princess Pen Pal project.)
After Christmas, I flew to New Jersey to spend some time with David, his family and his friends. It was an awesome trip and I even got to cross some items off of my bucket list while in New York City. Check out my photos below:
| David's dad took us skeet shooting. At first I was a little scared, but then I turned out okay. I think I got 8/10 in the competition. |
| We spent New Year's Eve at David's friend's place in Brooklyn. They made this sparkly pinata filled with candy, which David got to bust open at midnight. I hope I wasn't the only one that grabbed and ate the candy out of it :o) |
| Later in the evening, we went into Manhattan to meet up with some of David's college friends. Instead of taking a regular yellow taxi back, we grabbed a bicyle taxi! |
| Outside of Carlo's Bake Shop in Hoboken, New Jersey. They film Cake Boss here on TLC. I got two chocolate covered strawberries, a brownie, a cannoli, a coffee mug and a chocolate chip cookie! Everything was awesome, but the cakes are definitely the coolest thing Buddy (the Cake Boss) makes. |
| I randomly spotted the ball that drops at midnight on NYE in Times Square while walking down a side street! |
| I don't know what these red stairs are for, but I had to take a photo because they seem to be in everything. Plus, there was a billboard for Wicked in the background, which we saw later that day. |
You might have recognized the Times Square stairs from the following:
| At the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree! |
| Ice skating at Rockefeller Center! It was freezing that day, but skating was so much fun! |
How did you spend your holiday season? Tell me in the comments below! Check back soon for an update on Operation: Princess Pen Pal! I got some letters in the mail over the holidays that I need to share with you guys. I wish you only the best in the New Year!
I spent Christmas in TX with you & then New Years in Atlanta with my boyfriend(now fiance). We played paintball, set off fireworks,& caught up with all his friends & family while he was home on leave. It was a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteAnywho, my questin is about the ball that drops in Times Square. How big is it? In your picture it looks small but on TV it looked a lot bigger. Oh and when you were at the Bake Shop was Buddy or anyone from the show there that you could see? Jw.
Ahhh was that cannoli amazing?? My mom always made it growing up... NYC is on my bucket list, but good luck convincing the hubs of that (maybe some day...). My holidays were unusual, and boring. We'll just consider January our December, and THIS is our holiday vacation. :D
ReplyDeleteLogan: The ball that drops for NYE is on top of a building in Times Square, so I am sure it looks much smaller than it is. I recommend watching the movie New Year's Eve because one of the character's works on the ball a lot for her job. Its pretty big in that movie. Also, when I was at Carlo's Bake Shop, none of the family members were there (it was probably an hour before closing). I think they work there during the day. According to David's friend that lives across the street - the line wraps around the building for an hour long wait when they are there! I suggest going when its calmer although I didn't get Buddy to sign my cupcake hat :o(
ReplyDeleteDanielle: Your "holiday vacation" happening now is awesome! I love your photos in the Alps! Jealy!
