| I made this yesterday at this website. |
Yesterday was National Running Day! Of course it was the one morning I woke up and did not feel like running. I ended up hitting the sidewalk anyway last night, and I'm glad I did! This was also my first long run I've done without a treadmill and without Lily. It was kind of nice to just be alone and run. I completed a little over 6 miles in 64 minutes. Plus, it counted towards my #RWRunStreak Challenge I've been rocking the past week. Check out my summer goals post here.
Some people can't run without listening to music. Strangely, I am no one of them. While music does pump me up, I think running is a great time to think and observe. So, during my run last night I contemplated the many reasons of why I run. The cool thing about running is that everyone runs for different reasons. Check mine out below:
I run for my mental health.
I run for my physical health.
I run for my future family - I hope they are active too.
I run to participate in fun races.
I run to challenge myself.
I run to travel.
I run to connect with others.
I run to be a part of nature.
I run to have an excuse to get off the couch.
I run to move.
I run because Forrest Gump is my hero.
I run because Forrest Gump is my hero.
I run to burn fat.
I run to shock people.
I run to be proud of myself.
I run so I can eat sweets.
I run to give Lily some exercise.
I run for "me time".
I run to make goals and break them.
I run to better myself.
I run because I can.
Let me know in the comments below why you run - or don't run! I love that running is a sport everyone does for different reasons. It makes it interesting. Also, today happens to be National Chocolate Ice Cream Day! As someone who loves all holidays, I will be celebrating this day too! Will you? Let me know what your favorite chocolate sweet treat is below.
